Joe and I are attempting to knit socks. He has been working on his for a while. Our friend Kevin has shown us how to work the heel, and also the toe; however, I have lost my notes amongst all of my notebooks.
We are watching Utube videos to show us each part of the sock. Last weekend, we visited Yarn Barn in Lawrence, KS. I purchased some Vintage Yarn to make some socks. I believe that the color name was Ruby that I selected for my socks. Denise from Yarn Barn showed me a good pattern to use for my big feet - lol. Most sock patterns are geared for a size 8 1/2; so I would need to be sizing, guaging etc.
So far, I have knit the cuff, ankle, and heel flap. Tonight or tomorrow, I will start with the turning of the heel, and then the gusset! Jose is still working on the ankle part, as he wants his sock longer than mine.
The more we watch the videos, the more we are understanding what needs to be done on each process. Would love to be like Kevin, and just knit socks without fretting over it.
I will post a photo tonight of my sock.
